Miley Cyrus Named Youngest Disney Legend

Hannah Montana star, on Sunday, achieved a remarkable milestone by becoming the youngest individual ever to receive the prestigious title of Disney Legend, an accolade reserved for those who have made a significant impact on the company.

While standing on stage before her speech at a D23 event in Anaheim, California, Cyrus became emotional as the crowd erupted in applause.

She shared that she had prepared two speeches – “one lengthy, for the bold persona I’m expected to embody, and one brief, in case I felt nervous” – before reminiscing about the inception of Hannah Montana in 2005.

She humorously mentioned she “definitely wasn’t created in a lab” as a “Disney kid.”

“A little bit of everything has changed, … but at the same time, nothing has changed at all,” she continued. “I stand here still proud to have been Hannah Montana.”

Cyrus added: “In so many ways, his award is dedicated to Hannah and all of her amazing loyal fans, and to everyone who has made my dream a reality. To quote the legend herself, ‘This is the life.’ “

The event also honored stars like Angela Bassett, Harrison Ford, and John Williams. The “Flowers” singer began her journey as Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel in 2006.

The series followed Miley Stewart, a regular teen leading a double life as pop sensation Hannah Montana. Beyond the show, Cyrus starred in the Hannah Montana movie in 2009 and headlined the Best of Both Worlds tour in 2011.

In 2021, Cyrus marked the 16th anniversary of the show by posting a video of herself performing “Hoedown Throwdown,” one of Hannah’s iconic songs, at a concert.

“16 years ago my life changed forever when HM premiered,” she wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “Because of your loyalty and support I’ve had the honor to travel the world for over a decade and perform for fans that bring so much greatness into my life.”

In 2020, Cyrus expressed her willingness to revisit the role of Hannah during an interview on the Carolina With Greg T In The Morning radio show.

She humorously mentioned, “You know what honestly, I try to put that wig on all the time. She’s just in storage collecting dust and I’m ready to whip her out. The opportunity will present itself.”

Cyrus further added, “I definitely would like to resurrect her at some point. She needs a big makeover because she’s kinda stuck in 2008, so we’ll need to go shopping with Miss Montana.”
