Meghan Markle Surprises Tig Fans at a Special Screening

Meghan Markle surprised a group of her longtime fans at a special screening for her new Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, which premiered on Tuesday.

Ahead of the release, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, flew into New York City to make a surprise appearance at an event for followers of her former lifestyle blog, The Tig.

She started the blog in 2014, sharing recipes, experiences, and lifestyle tips with her fans, before shutting it down in 2017 after beginning her relationship with Prince Harry.

On Monday night, Markle filmed herself heading to the Ludlow House, a Soho House club in the Lower East Side, to surprise the fans who had followed The Tig over the years.

“A surprise in the Big Apple tonight,” Markle wrote on her Instagram Story, sharing a clip of herself walking into a screening room filled with unsuspecting fans.

Her loyal fans didn’t hold back, with some even showing off tattoos that read “As Ever,” the name of Markle’s new lifestyle brand.

Markle also posted on social media what appeared to be congratulatory gifts for the premiere of her show, including a bottle of Tignanello wine—an inspiration for the name of The Tig.

She also shared a photo of a bouquet of flowers and a handwritten card from Harry and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. “Congratulations mumma! We love your show, and we love you!” the note read, signed by “Lili, Archie [and] Papa.”

In her Netflix series, Markle revealed that she no longer uses her maiden name, opting instead to go by “Sussex” so she can share the same last name as her children.

She shared this detail in the second episode during a conversation with Mindy Kaling, who had referred to her by her maiden name.

After marrying Harry in May 2018, the couple became the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, a title given to them by Queen Elizabeth II as a wedding gift.
