Meghan Markle’s Netflix series concluded with a heartfelt toast.
At a celebratory brunch attended by her husband Prince Harry, her mother Doria Ragland, and close friends, Meghan raised a glass and delivered a speech to her loved ones. “I just want to raise a glass to you guys,” she said. “This feels like a new chapter, and I’m so excited that I get to share it.”
This sentiment echoes what Meghan shared during her trip to Colombia with Prince Harry in August 2024. At the Afro-Descendant Women and Power: Voices of Equity summit on August 18, where Afro-Colombian women leaders discussed the challenges they face with racism, gender bias, and other issues, Meghan spoke about seeing this time in her life as her “chapter of joy.”
“The more you look at your life and truly recognize that, to be grateful for it, you have to appreciate every aspect — the parts that were opportunities for growth, even if difficult, and the parts that are inspiring, joyful, and full,” she said.
Earlier in the eighth episode of her show, titled “Feels Like Home,” Meghan explained she was hosting the brunch because “I love a brunch party. There’s something really charming about it, and I think it’s a great way to connect.”
“My husband will be here, my mom will be here, my best friend since college, just my community, having a brunch in the sunshine with the people that I love, celebrating this new chapter of my life,” she added.
Meghan described the brunch as meant to “be fun and definitely no pressure, just a good time.” Prince Harry, 40, praised the event, telling her, “You did a really great job. I love it.”
She then expressed her gratitude, saying, “I’ve been able to learn from all of you, so thank you for all the love and support.”
In her toast, Meghan shared how she was reconnecting with “the creativity I’ve missed so much,” and ended with, “Thank you for loving me so much and celebrating with me. Cheers, guys.”
