A Los Angeles judge has granted Megan Thee Stallion a five-year restraining order against Tory Lanez, who is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting her.
The ruling, made on Thursday, prohibits Lanez from contacting or approaching Megan until January 9, 2030.
Megan, who appeared via video call, gave an emotional testimony, describing Lanez as a “violent and dangerous criminal.”
Megan initially filed for the restraining order in December, alleging that Lanez continued to harass her from prison, causing “repeated trauma and revictimization.”
She expressed fear for her safety, stating that she worries Lanez may try to harm her again.
During her testimony, Megan also accused Lanez of attempting to damage her reputation by spreading rumors online through hired “bloggers.”
In December 2022, Tory Lanez was found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot during an incident in July 2020.
He was convicted of assault with a semi-automatic firearm, carrying a loaded gun, and having an unregistered firearm.
Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison in 2023, with a scheduled release date of 2033.
However, he is eligible for parole in September 2029.
This is not the first time Megan Thee Stallion has been granted a restraining order against Lanez.
A previous order was issued in 2020 but expired in 2023.
The two rappers had a prior intimate relationship, which Megan Thee Stallion initially denied in 2022.
However, she later admitted to the relationship in her 2024 Amazon documentary.
