Maren Morris is navigating the dating world again after her divorce from Ryan Hurd.
In a recent interview, the 35-year-old shared her experiences, including joining the dating app Raya and encountering what she calls “fake liberal men.”
Morris described feeling like a “toddler at dating” and mentioned learning about dating red flags from TikTok, such as “maladaptive daydreaming” and “avoidant attachment.”
She also recounted an experience where a man she was seeing “completely imploded” after introducing her to his friends. She noted that some men “know how to cosplay intimacy so well.”
Despite these challenges, Morris’s new album, “Dreamsicle,” released today, May 9th, isn’t focused on the divorce itself.
Instead, she explained that the album explores “what happens after divorce,” including the grief, anger, sadness, and the vulnerability of dating again, as well as reconnecting with friends and herself.
Morris and Hurd, 38, met in 2013 but didn’t start dating until a few years later.
They married in March 2018 and have a 5-year-old son, Hayes. Morris filed for divorce in October 2023, and their divorce was finalized in January 2024.
