Major Fights With Fiance’s Pet Made Me Rehome My Dog – Kaley Cuoco

After the passing of her dog Shirley, Kaley Cuoco shared the “excruciating decision” she made to rehome her pet.

On Nov. 24, Cuoco took to social media to explain her reasons for rehoming her dog while announcing the sad news of her death.

The actress is the founder of Oh Norman, an organization dedicated to helping dogs find homes.

“Most of you know I had [Shirley] for many, many, many years,” Cuoco said in an Instagram video.

“All of a sudden, you kind of stopped seeing her, and I started getting a lot of questions about where she was, since it’s very unlike me to just stop posting about a dog that I’ve had since she was 6 weeks old,” she explained.

Cuoco revealed that Shirley’s “mega fights” with her fiancé Tom Pelphrey’s dog ultimately led to the decision to rehome her.

“Long story short, she’s a very special dog to me, as you all know. When the love of my life, Tom, who is also a huge dog lover, moved across the country with his beautiful German Shepherd, Blue, things changed,” Cuoco shared.

“Unfortunately, a couple of years ago, Blue and Shirley started getting into some serious fights,” she continued.

The “Big Bang Theory” actress noted that Shirley was “determined to kill” Blue and had issues with other dogs, except for Cuoco’s other dog, Norman, whom she grew up with.

Cuoco described Shirley as “such a people dog” who loved being around others. Ultimately, she decided to rehome her because of “how she was behaving.”

“I loved her so much, but I was really scared,” she concluded.

Cuoco and Pelphrey got engaged in August after dating for two years.

The actress has been married twice previously; she was married to Karl Cook for three years before their divorce in September 2021, and she was also married to tennis player Ryan Sweeting from 2013 to 2016.
