Katy Perry Admits Passing On Young Billie Eilish Was A “Huge Mistake”

Katy Perry has admitted that turning down the opportunity to work with a young Billie Eilish was “a huge mistake”. In an intimate concert, Katy opened up to her fans about how she had declined to collaborate with the 21-year-old Grammy winner when she heard her early song ‘Ocean Eyes.’ 102.7 KIIS FM shared the TikTok of Perry recounting the story, which included her quoting the famous line from ‘Pretty Woman’ – “Big mistake. Huge mistake.”

The pop star and Billie have since gone on to become friends, with their first meeting being captured in the documentary ‘Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry’. At this time, Perry congratulated Billie on her success and offered to give her advice. She also introduced Billie to her then-fiancé Orlando Bloom – although the young singer didn’t immediately recognize him.

Katy has since realized that she made a mistake in not working with Eilish earlier, and hopes that her story will encourage other artists and producers not to let potential opportunities pass by. Despite the missed chance, it seems like Katy and Billie have a great relationship between them today. After all, what’s the saying? Better late than never!
