Jennifer Garner took a moment on Father’s Day to show appreciation for her ex-husband, Ben Affleck.
On Sunday, June 15, the 53-year-old actress posted a sweet tribute on Instagram Stories, sharing a throwback photo of Affleck lying on a couch with one of their kids resting on his chest as a baby.
She captioned it: “Happy Father’s Day to 3 people’s favorite landing spot.”
Garner and Affleck, who divorced in 2018, share three children: Violet (19), Seraphina (16), and Samuel (13). Despite their split, they’ve continued to co-parent well and speak kindly about each other.
In a past interview with GQ, Affleck praised Garner, saying, “I’m really lucky that I have a really good co-parent and partner in Jennifer Garner.”
He also shared how they’ve handled media rumors with their kids, explaining that they would talk honestly when the children saw false headlines in stores.
Garner and Affleck met on the set of Pearl Harbor in 2002, started dating in 2004, and quietly got married in 2005.
Just days after their 10th anniversary in 2015, they announced their separation, and their divorce was finalized in 2018.
Before sharing the post about Affleck, Garner also honored her late father, William John Garner, who passed away in 2024 at the age of 85.
In a video clip, she showed herself walking with him and reflected: “Being fathered by someone who loves being a dad is a gift… Happy Father’s Day to the Dads, no matter where you are, to the uncles and grandfathers and father figures, too. We love you.”
