Colleen Hoover is taking a break from social media amid the ongoing legal issues between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni.
Fans noticed that her Instagram account is currently inactive.
Hoover’s decision to step back comes as Lively, 37, filed a sexual harassment complaint against Baldoni, 40, on December 20, 2024, alleging misconduct during the production of the film adaptation of Hoover’s best-selling novel, “It Ends with Us.”
The movie, directed by Baldoni and released in August 2024, features Lively as Lily Bloom and Baldoni as her abusive boyfriend, Ryle Kincaid.
In her complaint, Lively stated that she had met with Baldoni and several producers, with her husband Ryan Reynolds acting as her representative, to establish protections before filming resumed after two Hollywood strikes.
She claims that after agreeing to these protections, Baldoni hired crisis publicists to launch a retaliatory smear campaign against her.
The day after Lively filed her complaint, Hoover posted a supportive Instagram Story.
“@blakelively, you have been nothing but honest, kind, supportive and patient since the day we met,” Hoover wrote alongside a photo of herself and Lively hugging at a screening of the film. “Thank you for being exactly the human that you are. Never change. Never wilt.”
Since the initial complaint, Baldoni has denied Lively’s allegations.
On December 31, 2024, he filed a $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times for libel and false light invasion of privacy.
On January 21, Baldoni’s lawyer released production footage showing Lively and Baldoni joking about his nose and her spray tan while filming a dialogue-free scene.
This scene is mentioned in both lawsuits.
Lively’s legal team referred to the footage as a “stunt,” asserting that “every frame of the released footage corroborates, to the letter,” what Lively stated in her lawsuit regarding that scene.
