Actor Chloe Grace Moretz has publicly come out as gay in a heartfelt post urging others to vote early and showing her support for Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the presidential race.
The 27-year-old, recognized for her performances in Kick-Ass, Carrie, and The Equalizer, and who has previously been linked to Brooklyn Beckham, posted a photo of an “I voted early” sticker on her Instagram account.
In the caption, the actor stated: “I voted early and I voted for Kamala Harris. There is so much at stake in this election. I believe the government has no authority over my body as a woman, and that decisions regarding my body should come ONLY from myself and my doctor.”
She went on to express her belief that Harris “will safeguard that for us,” adding, “I believe in the necessity of legal protections for the LGBTQ+ community as a gay woman.”
“We need protections in this country and to have access to the care we need and deserve.
“SO… Are you voting early? Let’s get a plan together to get to your polling place with your friends! Go to IWillVote.com to figure out the best plan for you,” said Moretz.
This marks the first time Moretz has openly discussed her sexuality, although she has been romantically linked to model Kate Harrison since 2018, when they were photographed kissing in Malibu, California.
Earlier this year, she shared a reel featuring herself and Harrison at a wedding.
Harrison also posted a photo with Moretz at the “NYC Dyke March” in June 2023.
In 2018, Moretz appeared in the indie drama The Miseducation of Cameron Post, which tells the story of a young woman undergoing gay conversion therapies.
