In response to the growing awareness of artificial sweeteners and their potential negative effects, Jell-O is staying ahead of the curve by introducing a new permanent line called Jell-O Simply. This collection features reduced-sugar gelatin and pudding options that are free from artificial sweeteners or colors, containing 25% less sugar than the original products.
The first phase of the Jell-O Simply rollout includes ready-to-eat gelatin cups in three flavors: classic Orange, along with the new Raspberry Lemonade and Blueberry varieties. Later this summer, Jell-O will introduce Simply gelatin and instant pudding mixes in four flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate, Banana, and Strawberry.
Kathryn O’Brien, head of marketing for desserts at Kraft Heinz (Jell-O’s parent company), emphasized the importance of offering treats that strike a balance between great taste and ingredients that consumers can feel good about. The Jell-O Simply line aims to provide the delicious taste and iconic jiggle that fans love, now without artificial sweeteners or FD&C colors.
Jell-O Simply will be available nationwide at retailers where other Jell-O products are sold. The new ready-to-eat gelatin cups are currently available in packs of four for around $3.99, while the Jell-O Simply boxed gelatin and pudding mixes will hit shelves in August for about $2.24 per box.
