Innocence and Guilt in Salem

As Dimitri von Leuschner (played by Peter Porte) finds himself in a tight spot, doubts linger about his alleged crime. The official Days of Our Lives YouTube channel released a new promo teasing what’s on the horizon for the week of January 9-13, 2026. In the promo, Rafe Hernandez (portrayed by Galen Gering) is seen arresting Dimitri in Horton Town Square as he sits alongside Leo Stark (played by Greg Rikaart).

Upon returning to Salem, Dimitri claims that his wife Gwen Rizczech (played by Emily O’Brien) orchestrated his kidnapping to seize the von Leuschner fortune. This return coincided with his former lover Leo marrying Javi Hernandez (portrayed by Al Calderon). Meanwhile, members of the DiMera family, including Chad, Theo, Kristen, and Tony, found themselves kidnapped by Peter Blake (portrayed by Dan Gauthier). Ultimately, the DiMeras managed to outwit Peter and escape.

Rafe teamed up with FBI agent Eli Grant (played by Lamon Archey) to investigate the kidnappings, leading to questioning of Vivian Alamain (portrayed by Louise Sorel). During the investigation, a tablet linked to a surveillance camera in the DiMera family crypt was discovered, along with Dimitri’s belongings within Vivian’s residence. The tablet and clothing linked to Dimitri were actually planted by Gwen as part of a scheme to frame him, leading to his arrest for the alleged crime.

With Dimitri now facing charges for a crime he didn’t commit, the question remains whether Vivian and Gwen’s plan will succeed. Days of Our Lives streams on Peacock weekdays.

“Dimitri’s arrest raises questions of guilt and innocence in the twisty world of Salem.”
