Who is Kassima “Kassie” Isabelle?
Kassima “Kassie” Isabelle is a 31 year old Canadian YouTuber. She formerly went by the name CloudyApples in 2011 before changing to Gloom four years ago.
Despite her extended absence, she still has a large following on her various social media platforms. But what happened to her? Has she given any clues as to when she’ll be back?
Kassie Isabelle announced on 8 January 2022 that she would take a break from making online videos. According to her, this didn’t mean that she was quitting; she just needed some time off.
The video, titled Signing Off, is still accessible. It has received 8.35 million views to date on the YouTube Channel which has more than 7 million subscribers.
Why did Gloom take a break from YouTube in January 2022?
Kassie said she had to stop uploading videos to the Gloom YouTube channel because she thought she had breast cancer. According to her, her family has a history of breast cancer, making the prospect all the more frightening. Her aunt, with whom she shared the name Kassima, died of cancer.
She was given the all-clear when her lump was discovered to be a cyst during testing – making it non-cancerous.
Nonetheless, the tension of the situation prevented her from making videos for her YouTube followers for a time.
She went on to say, “The whole scare I had was kind of the nail in the coffin for me. It made me realise I need to take a break. I need to work on my personal life. My house is always a disaster. I don’t remember the last time I cooked a meal. And when I had this scare, I was like, ‘it’s probably because you don’t take care of yourself’.”
During her speech, she also said that the break would most likely “last a month or so,” and she hoped that by the time she decides to return to YouTube content creation, “some of you guys will be here.”
However, as of July 2022, she has not uploaded any new videos to her YouTube channel. It is possible that she has taken an extended break or that she has quit YouTube altogether.
Only time will tell if Kassie “Kassie” Isabelle returns to her online video persona Gloom and begins uploading new videos for her fans to enjoy.
