Gwyneth Paltrow Defends Selling Controversial $75 Vagina Candle

Gwyneth Paltrow didn’t mince words when addressing the controversy surrounding her Goop company’s now-discontinued “This Smells Like My Vagina” candle.

In a recent interview at the 2025 Mindvalley Manifesting Summit in Los Angeles, the actress and entrepreneur offered a direct and colorful retort to critics: “Go f*** yourself!!”

Paltrow explained that the provocative candle name began as a joke that unexpectedly made its way onto the Goop website subsequently “breaking the internet” while simultaneously igniting a firestorm of criticism.

Despite the backlash, the original candle paved the way for other cheeky Goop scents such as “This Smells Like My Orgasm” and “This Smells Like My Prenup,” as well as “Hands off My Vagina” in 2022.

The businesswoman staunchly defended the infamous candle, characterizing it as “punk rock” and suggesting she would stand by its concept indefinitely.
