Eva Longoria Donates $1 Million to Los Angeles Wildfire Relief

The Eva Longoria Foundation, supported by the Courage and Civility Award, pledged $1 million on Monday to aid California wildfire relief efforts.

Former HUD Secretary Julian Castro announced this commitment on social media, stating that the funds will benefit both Castro’s Latino Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund and the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund.

These organizations are collaborating with front-line, grassroots groups that are deeply rooted in the affected communities and understand their specific needs.

Currently, three wildfires are raging in Los Angeles County—the Palisades, Eaton, and Hurst fires—having started nearly a week ago.

The death toll stands at 24, with over 38,000 acres burned and more than 3,100 structures destroyed, primarily in the Palisades and Altadena, where the Eaton fire began.

In March 2024, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos donated $50 million each from his Bezos Courage and Civility Award to Longoria and retired Navy admiral Bill McRaven, recognizing their significant contributions to society.

Longoria will elaborate on the donation during her appearance on NBC’s Jenna & Friends on Tuesday, after which she will return to Los Angeles to volunteer with Global Empowerment Mission and visit World Central Kitchen’s operations for the Eaton Fire.
