This move has led to a significant increase in donations, with ActBlue reporting tens of millions raised from small donors following Biden’s announcement.
By Sunday night, grassroots supporters had raised $46.7 million through ActBlue after Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign launch, marking the most substantial fundraising day of the 2024 cycle.
The New York Times reported that the fundraising likely exceeded $50 million, making Sunday the most significant day for online Democratic contributions since the 2020 election.
Moreover, ActBlue surpassed $14 billion in total donations raised since its establishment in 2004.
This surge in enthusiasm and donations shows overall support for Harris presidency.
Asides the huge donations, a good number of celebrities, political figures have thrown their weight behind the vice president.

Bill and Hillary Clinton
Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State and 2016 Democratic nominee for President Hillary Clinton endorsed Harris for President in a joint statement saying, “we will do whatever we can to support her,” particularly as “nothing has made [them] more worried” for the country than “the threat posed by a second Trump term.”
Martin Luther and Arndrea Waters King
Martin Luther King III, son of civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr., posted a statement of endorsement from him and his wife Arndrea Waters King. They wrote that Harris “will shatter a significant glass ceiling by becoming the first Black woman and first South Asian nominee from a major party for President” and that she has demonstrated commitment to what King’s father stood for: “a world built on peace, justice, and equity.”
