During the third week of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal sex trafficking trial, a former assistant, testifying under the pseudonym “Mia,” claimed the music mogul once took her phone and threatened to use compromising photos against her.
Mia testified on Thursday, May 29, that the incident occurred after Combs questioned why she was walking so close to him.
She stated that Combs ran into a bathroom with her phone, and when she pursued him barefoot, he repeatedly slammed the heavy commercial building door on her hand.
“He bolted right past me, down the stairs and to the streets,” Mia recounted, adding that she later saw Combs at a recording studio.
It was there, according to Mia’s testimony, that Combs allegedly told her in an “almost like bullying” tone, “I sent all your naked photos to my phone so that I got something on you if you got something on me.”
Mia, however, testified that she had no such pictures and knew Combs was lying. She also expressed relief that Combs hadn’t seen a text message she had sent to his stylist, Derek, before he took her phone. That message, she said, was something along the lines of “he’s being a jerk right now,” referring to Combs.
The former assistant also described feeling “terrified” and “humiliated” whenever Combs insulted her, saying, “I didn’t know why I deserved it. I made a lot of excuses for him in my head.”
Mia worked for Combs from 2009 to 2017. Earlier in her testimony, she stated that part of her job involved “reading his mood each day” as it “dictated everything.”
She has also made other serious allegations, including claims that Combs sexually assaulted her and that she witnessed him beating his ex-girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura.
Combs faces charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The trial, which began with opening statements on May 12, is now expected to conclude in five weeks, a week earlier than initially planned.
