Did Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni Have Issues Over ‘It Ends With Us’?

As the highly anticipated film ‘It Ends With Us’ approaches a successful opening weekend, it’s unexpectedly become the subject of intense social media scrutiny.

Speculation about a potential rift between star and producer Blake Lively and her co-star/director Justin Baldoni has flooded TikTok, with users meticulously analyzing press appearances and promotional events.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, creative differences led to two distinct versions of the film emerging during post-production, sparking rumours of a fracture among the filmmakers.

The online sleuthing was fueled by Baldoni’s noticeable absence from joint press events, the lack of joint photos with Lively at the New York premiere, and the fact that Lively, author Colleen Hoover, and the cast don’t follow Baldoni on Instagram (despite him following them).

This has raised eyebrows, given the previously documented camaraderie between Hoover and Baldoni on social media during the film’s development.

Social media speculation surrounding ‘It Ends With Us’ has led to theories about Blake Lively bringing in her husband, Ryan Reynolds, to take creative control of the film.

This notion gained traction after Lively revealed that Reynolds wrote a pivotal rooftop scene.

However, insiders clarify that while Reynolds did contribute significantly to the scene’s dialogue, he didn’t write the entire scene.

Given his commitments to ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ alongside director Shawn Levy, Reynolds’ involvement in Lively’s film was limited.

As a producer and star, Lively had substantial creative input and even commissioned an alternate cut from editor Shane Reid, who worked on ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ and Lively’s Taylor Swift music video.

It’s unclear if this cut was incorporated into the final version, credited to editors Oona Flaherty and Robb Sullivan.

As for the future, Colleen Hoover has already laid the groundwork for a potential next chapter with her 2022 novel ‘It Starts with Us’, a sequel to the original book.

While Justin Baldoni remains noncommittal about directing another film, his character plays a crucial part in the sequel’s narrative.

However, it’s still unknown if the studio can reunite the cast and crew for another film.
