Tia Mowry was left emotional and nearly speechless after receiving unexpected news during her routine mammogram.
In an exclusive preview of Tia Mowry: My Next Act, the 46-year-old actress is seen riding in a car with her assistant, Ciara, when she receives a call from her doctor’s office.
“We got your results back from your mammogram, and your results have come back abnormal,” the doctor informs her, leaving Mowry visibly stunned.
The doctor then explains that they need to schedule a biopsy for further insight, to which Mowry responds, “Oh my God,” struggling to process the alarming news.
Overwhelmed by the health scare, Mowry shares her fear and frustration, remarking that just as she has been working on her mental health, this new concern has emerged: “This is my health,” she says tearfully. In a confessional, she expresses her vulnerability, stating, “I’ve been doing so much to take care of my mental health… but I’m scared. I don’t know what to expect.”
Her assistant, Ciara, tries to comfort her, urging her not to worry prematurely. “They didn’t say that you have cancer. Let’s not self-diagnose,” Ciara reminds her, emphasising the importance of staying calm and waiting for the biopsy results.
Mowry also reflects on the personal loss of her grandmother and aunt, both of whom passed away from cancer in recent years, heightening her emotional response. However, Ciara reassures her that she has an excellent team of doctors and that there’s no need to panic yet: “Get it out. It’s better out than in,” Ciara says, offering a listening ear during the emotional moment.
