A Chicago woman has been reported missing after she travelled to Paradise Island in the Bahamas to attend a yoga retreat.
According to her family members, Taylor Casey, was last seen at Sivananda Ashram on Wednesday.
The 41-year-old was on a yoga certification retreat when the retreat center noticed she was not in class on Wednesday.
Two days later, the Royal Bahamas Police Force distributed a missing persons flier seeking information on her whereabouts
A statement from her family reads, “We are deeply concerned for Taylor’s safety and well-being.
“I believe Taylor is in danger because she was eager to share her yoga retreat experience with others upon her return.”
“Taylor would never disappear like this”.
A Facebook group “Find Taylor Casey Facebook page” has been formed in search of her.
Casey is described as a Black American with light skin and a thin appearance, standing 5 feet, 10 inches, with natural, often-covered hair.
Taylor’s disappearance comes as the U.S. Embassy in the Bahamas issued a warning and travel advisory to Americans at the beginning of the year, citing the 18 murders that have happened on the island nation since January.
