Beyoncé has postponed today’s mystery announcement because of the L.A. wildfires, for which she has contributed $2.5M to the relief efforts.
The superstar had teased a cryptic video of herself riding a white horse on Christmas day, which ended with today’s date, sparking excitement about what might be coming next.
Many speculated that she would announce tour dates in support of her hit album, Cowboy Carter.
However, she took to Instagram early this morning to announce that the reveal will be delayed “to a later date.”
“The January 14th announcement will be postponed due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires around Los Angeles,” she wrote.
“I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss.
“We are so blessed to have brave first responders who are tirelessly protecting the Los Angeles community.”
In the comments, she noted that the BeyGOOD LA Fire Relief Fund has donated $2.5M to families who have lost their homes and to community organizations leading the relief efforts.
Beyoncé is among many notable figures and organizations contributing to the wildfire relief as the catastrophic fires, which have displaced hundreds of thousands, enter their second week.
