Amanda Batula, star of Summer House, recently shared the surprising story of how music icon Rihanna once slid into her DMs — and the regrettable mistake she made in response.
During a February 19 appearance on the Conversations with Cam podcast, Batula, 33, recalled the moment she received a message from the superstar.
At the time, Batula admitted she was so overwhelmed by the unexpected DM that she simply ignored it. “I was like, ‘What do I say?’” Batula said, explaining how she was caught off guard by the celebrity interaction.
Eventually, Batula got around to replying, referencing one of Rihanna’s famous hits in her message: “I love you, queen,” followed by an umbrella emoji. However, by then, it was almost a year later, and Batula never heard back from Rihanna.
“I think it was like a year later,” Batula said with a sigh. “No, I never heard back.”
Host Cameron Oaks Rogers joked about the situation, saying, “That’s like the worst thing depression has cost you honestly,” to which Batula wholeheartedly agreed. “It was so bad,” she confessed. “I was so overwhelmed.”
Rihanna, known for her support of Bravo reality stars, has reached out to several public figures on social media, including in 2021 when she showed love to Real Housewives of New York star Leah McSweeney.
Batula revealed Rihanna’s message said, “You’re my fave tbh,” but her delayed response might have sealed the fate of any future conversation.
