Famous British singer Adele has gone on sabbatical.
During her concert in Munich on Saturday, Grammy-winning artist Adele revealed to the audience that she intends to take a prolonged break from the spotlight once her Las Vegas residency comes to a close in November.
The announcement was captured in video footage from the show.
“I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it,” Adele said, her voice trembling. “I want to live the new life that I have been building.”
She added that she may not take the stage again “for an incredibly long time.”
Adele’s Saturday concert in Munich marked the end of her 10-show residency in the German city.
However, fans in Las Vegas can still look forward to seeing the global superstar live on stage.
Adele is scheduled to perform the final 10 shows of her Weekends with Adele residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which began in January 2022 and will end on November 23.
During her Munich show, Adele expressed heartfelt gratitude to “everyone who’s come to any of my shows ever” over the past three years, showcasing songs from her critically acclaimed album “30”.
“It has been amazing, I just need a rest,” she said.
Adele has consistently taken extended breaks from the public eye between album releases, a pattern that is expected to continue.
Following her 2021 album release, six years after the hugely successful “25” in 2015, fans anticipate another hiatus.
This approach is reminiscent of her earlier career, with her first two albums released in 2008 and 2011, respectively. She then took a break for throat surgery and took time off after the birth of her son in 2012.
In a July interview with German broadcaster ZDF, Adele hinted at another impending retreat from touring, suggesting she will “do other creative things, just for a little while.”
