So the headlines that are out right now are very hard to see because that’s not the truth of it. I have always treated my children with respect and I’ve never touched them. So it’s been really hard.”
In a separate interview with People at the same event, Paul expressed how the ongoing controversy has affected her experience as “The Bachelorette”: “Honestly, just like, my heart hurts to see it, to go through it, especially at this time. Just the timing is hard, and it’s a big deal. I feel like every premiere that I’ve experienced, I’ve never enjoyed fully, so this is another one… it’s extremely hard, and it took everything to get me here today.”
Despite the challenges she faces, Paul’s season of “The Bachelorette” is set to premiere on Sunday, Mar. 22 on ABC. However, TMZ reports that the network has enlisted a crisis public relations manager to navigate the controversy surrounding her season.
The tumultuous situation extends beyond the premiere, with production on season 5 of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” paused following an altercation between Paul and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. An insider revealed to People, “They are not filming. Taylor has some pretty serious stuff happening regarding her past, and they will see what happens. Until that resolves, they are off.”
Confirming the seriousness of the situation, a spokesperson for the Draper City Police Department disclosed to the outlet that there is an open “domestic assault investigation” involving Paul and Mortensen.
