Singer-songwriter Jill Sobule, famous for her songs “I Kissed A Girl” and “Supermodel” from the movie “Clueless,” has passed away at the age of 66.
Her representatives announced the sad news in a statement on her Facebook page on Wednesday, May 1, saying her death was due to a house fire earlier that morning.
Police in Woodbury confirmed the news on Thursday, May 2, identifying Sobule as the victim of the fire.
While the exact cause of death is still being determined by the medical examiner, the fire itself is under investigation.
According to the police report, firefighters were called to a house fire and were told someone might still be inside.
Tragically, they found a woman in her 60s, later identified as Sobule, deceased inside the home.
Instead of her planned concert in Denver on Friday, May 2, a gathering will be held by her friend and radio host Rob Bostwick.
