Disney Increases Security for Gal Gadot After Death Threats Linked to Pro-Israeli Remarks

Disney had to hire security to protect Snow White star Gal Gadot due to her outspoken support for Israel, according to a bombshell new report.

The 39-year-old Israeli actress, who served in the Israel Defense Forces, became the target of numerous death threats after her Snow White co-star, 23-year-old Rachel Zegler, shared a pro-Palestinian message on social media, as reported by Variety.

In an August 2024 thread on X, thanking fans for their support of the first trailer for the live-action remake of Disney’s 1937 animated classic, Zegler added, “and always remember, free Palestine.”

Her comments quickly circulated within Disney, with Variety noting that many were shocked by Zegler’s decision to insert a political statement into the promotion of the $270 million film.

After Rachel Zegler’s “free Palestine” post, death threats against Gal Gadot increased, prompting Disney to hire extra security to protect the Wonder Woman star, according to Variety.

Zegler also faced backlash in the past for a post after Donald Trump’s election in November, where she wrote, “F—k Donald Trump” and added, “May Trump supporters… never know peace.”

After that, Disney and producer Marc Platt stepped in, and a “social media expert” hired by Disney started reviewing Zegler’s posts before the March 21 premiere of Snow White.

Zegler’s strained relationship with Gadot may not be due to their views on the Gaza war, but rather a comment Zegler made earlier this month.

After their joint appearance at the Oscars, Zegler referred to Gadot as “a professional pageant queen,” which some people saw as a dismissive remark about another actress.
