Garcelle Beauvais is leaving The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
She shared the news in an Instagram video on Tuesday, just before the season 14 finale airs.
In the video, she explained that her decision was due to her family commitments and her acting and producing projects outside the show, but she left the door open for a possible return in the future.
“I’ve decided to leave Beverly Hills,” Garcelle said. “It’s been a wild ride, with amazing moments and some tough ones, but it’s been a journey. One of the reasons I’m leaving is because of my family.
My boys are in their last year of high school, and I want to be there for them. Jade is starting a new career, and I want to support that too. Plus, I’m working on some exciting new projects that I can’t reveal just yet, but you’ll know soon.”
Garcelle, who joined the show in 2020, thanked Andy Cohen, Bravo, NBCUniversal, the production team, and “of course, the ladies.”
She added, “Andy Cohen says I can come back anytime, so you never know, I might pop back in.”
She also thanked the fans for their support: “You’ve cheered me on, supported me, and fought for me. It means a lot, and I hope you’ll continue this journey with me. It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later.”
Garcelle’s announcement comes nearly a month after season 14 finished filming. The reunion was filmed on February 28, and the reunion specials will air next week.
Her mention of fan support likely refers to the times she faced criticism from castmates and the public, especially when her son was targeted with online hate in season 12.
In recent seasons, Garcelle has been focusing more on her producing career, including working with Lifetime on movies like Black Girl Missing and Terry McMillan Presents: Tempted By Love.
She’s also known for her roles in Spider-Man: Homecoming and Coming 2 America.
