Naomi Campbell recently responded to the tragic passing of Liam Payne, with whom she was rumoured to have had a brief romance in 2019. The supermodel shared her condolences on Instagram, commenting on Nicole Scherzinger’s tribute to Payne, which featured photos of Payne, Scherzinger, and their fellow Building the Band judge, Kelly Rowland.
Campbell and Payne, who shared a 23-year age difference, reportedly dated for about four months, igniting rumours in January 2019 when they left flirtatious comments on each other’s Instagram posts. Their whirlwind romance included attending Davido’s concert together in London and an outing in Ghana, before reportedly ending in April 2019 when Campbell chose to “let things fizzle out.” Both were asked about the relationship in interviews, but they never confirmed it publicly.
Though it’s unclear if Campbell and Payne stayed in contact after their split, Payne remained close to Scherzinger, who also posted a heartfelt tribute, expressing how he brought “joy, light, and laughter” to everyone he knew. The One Direction member passed away on 16 October, following a fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was 31.
