A 4-year-old girl has achieved an incredible feat, by being the youngest person ever to summit 48 of New Hampshire’s highest peaks.
Lydia Pearson was able to do this with the help of her mom.

On June 16, she reached the summit of Mount Washington, solidifying her record as the youngest person to complete the NH48.
According to , Lydia’s mother, Whitney Pearson, her daughter had reached the top of the NH48 at least four times together between the time Lydia was born in 2020 and when she began her own journey to climb each mountain.
“It has been incredible to watch her mental and physical growth from the first peak to the last one over the last year,” Whitney said.
“The confidence she’s gained, the strength, and you see it carry over into everything else she does every day.”
According to WCSH, Lydia began accompanying her mom when she was just six weeks old. But it didn’t take long for the toddler to strike out on her own.
By age two, Lydia was hiking under her own steam, and at three, she summited Mount Cannon – a feat that left her mom, Whitney, in awe.
“The outdoors is all she knows,” Whitney told Outside magazine.
Fast forward to last month, when Lydia became the youngest person to complete the NH48, summiting all 48 of New Hampshire’s 4,000-footers.
Her family was there to cheer her on, and Whitney described the moment as “surreal” and “rewarding”.
