5 Things You Shouldn’t Say to Women Who Don’t Want Children

There are many women out there who don’t want children for a variety of reasons. Maybe they don’t like kids, or maybe they just don’t want the responsibility of taking care of a child. Whatever the reason, these women should not be criticized for their choice.

Here are five things you should never say to a woman who doesn’t want kids.

1. “You’ll change your mind.”

A lot of people seem to think that all women eventually want children, but that’s simply not true. Some women know from a young age that they don’t want kids, and they shouldn’t have to change their minds just because society expects them to.

2. “You’ll regret this decision later.”

Just like with any other life choice, a woman who wants children can still regret her decision down the road. But that doesn’t mean she made the wrong choice in the first place. Everyone has the right to make their own decisions, even if they might regret them later on.

3. “You’re selfish.”

It’s often said that women who don’t want kids are being selfish, but that’s not always the case. There are plenty of valid reasons for not wanting children, and none of them are selfish.

4. “You’ll change your mind when you meet the right man.”

Just because a woman doesn’t want children now doesn’t mean she won’t want them later. But that doesn’t mean she has to wait for the “right man” to come along before she can make this decision.

5. “You’ll miss out on the best thing in life.”

Some people might genuinely believe that children are the best thing in life, but not everyone feels that way. Plenty of women who don’t want children still find plenty of joy in life.

Women have a right to make a decision without bothering about what society will think about it. There are plenty of valid reasons for not wanting children, and none of them are selfish. So if you know a woman who doesn’t want kids, be sure to avoid saying any of these things to her.
