What Are Some Of Your Favourite Women Centered Romance Books?

Love would always be a part of the human experience. To love and be loved form the emotional fabric of most societies.

However, love has also been used as a crutch to ensure that women lose themselves and transform often negatively.

That is why it is important that literature about romance shifts from women accommodating nonsense to romance that highlights true partnership and healthy relationships.

In our latest listicle, Urban Woman Magazine asked some women to share what their favourite women centered romance books are.

Read their responses below.

EI

Americanah by CNA for me.

Ifemelu chose herself constantly. She was wrong sometimes but she never bet against herself.

LM

Hafsatu Bebi.

It isn’t exactly a feminist story but I love love love the love between Zuwira and Ibrahim.

I love it so much that inspite of being orphaned and the only surviving child of her parents and having only her wicked aunt’s house as the only alternative to remaining in an abusive marriage with the rich Alhaji, Zuriwa choose to return to being the maid at her aunt’s house.

I love how despite being a naive, uneducated girl, she stood up for herself despite how hard that choice must have been.

Sincerely it reminded me that I have no excuse whatsoever to remain in any unpleasant relationship. There might not be love at home or anywhere else to run to, but that should not make me stay in abusive/unpleasant situations.

BO

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE! by Jane Austen of course.

Elizabeth remained a strict babe even in the face of marital pressure and….you know what, let me reread it.

As for improving my life and dating, well I must confess I have not followed her example. I have to change that.
