Selena Gomez is staying grounded despite reaching a net worth of $1.3 billion, primarily due to the success of her Rare Beauty brand.
During an interview at the New York Film Festival, the “Only Murders in the Building” star chose not to dwell on her financial achievements, stating: “I personally think it’s distasteful to talk about money. But I really am giving all the credit to the people who buy the products.” She stressed that her success was made possible by the support of her consumers and expressed gratitude towards them.
Bloomberg recently reported that Gomez’s wealth, now at $1.3 billion, largely comes from her makeup company, Rare Beauty, which she founded in 2019.
The company is committed to promoting mental health awareness, and its affiliated foundation raised over $7 million in 2023, following $5 million in 2022.
In addition to her beauty brand, Gomez’s acting and singing career, real estate investments, brand endorsements, and Wondermind investment have significantly contributed to her wealth.
Stacy Jones, a marketing expert, highlighted Gomez as a successful businesswoman with diverse income streams.
Along with her flourishing career, Gomez is set to appear in the 2024 film “Emilia Pérez” and will return for Season 5 of “Only Murders in the Building.”
She also remains the third most-followed person on Instagram, boasting 424 million followers and reportedly earning up to $30 million per social media advertisement deal.
Additionally, her close friend, Taylor Swift, reportedly achieved billionaire status after her Eras Tour last year, with her wealth likely increasing further due to new tour dates and music releases.
