Early Life and Education
Serena grew up in Houston and studied at the University of Texas at San Antonio before joining the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority. She had also cheered for over a decade and participated in track and field during her high school years at Fort Bend Elkins.
Rise to Fame on Love Island USA
Serena's rise to prominence began on Love Island USA, where she quickly became a fan favorite for her authenticity, humor, and emotional openness. She was crowned the season’s winner with Kordell Beckham, the younger brother of N.F.L. star Odell Beckham Jr. Their slow-burn romance resonated with audiences and became a celebrated example of young Black love on reality television.
Career
Beyond her reality television career, Serena has parlayed her platform to secure high-profile brand partnerships with brands, including NYX Cosmetics and Beyoncé’s Cécred. She has also attended high-profile public events, such as the Essence GU Disruptor Summit, where she announced she plans to launch a hair care line designed for young Black women. Her own experience with hair care while she was in college turned into her entrepreneurial vision. Aside from her business, Serena is a media planner at Moonbug Entertainment, and appeared in the short film Battlein 2023.

Serena moved to Los Angeles following her time on Love Island. She and Kordell Beckham made their relationship official in August 2024.
