Who is Louisa Jacobson? Age and Career Explored

Audiences may recognise Louisa Jacobson also known as Louisa Jacobson Gummer as the youngest daughter of Oscar award-winning actress Meryl Streep’s four children.

Away from her mother’s spotlight, Jacobson, who was born 12 June 1991, went down the modeling route and signed to well-known talent agency, IMG Models featured in the pages of Vanity Fair and Glamour.

In recent years Jacobson was seen to move into acting and graduated from Yale School of Drama with a master of fine arts acting degree in 2019.

The official teaser for HBO’s new period drama The Gilded Age dropped yesterday (Thursday 18 November), giving fans a sneak peek into the show cast. The clip featured well-known stars Christine Baranski and Cynthia Nixon, as well as introducing audiences to young actress Louisa Jacobson.

In The Gilded Age, Jacobson is set to play Marian Brook, who lives with her estranged aunts Agnes van Rhijn (Christine Baranski) and Ada Brook (Cynthia Nixon).

The casting for the HBO period drama was announced in 2019, with Jacobson taking to Instagram at the time as she gushed about feeling “blessed” ahead of filming:

While her mother is a well-known name in Hollywood, as per her IMDb profile, Louisa Jacobson’s career is just starting. Despite her upcoming appearance in HBO’s The Gilded Age, Jacobson made her on-screen debut in the 2019 TV movie Gone Hollywood.

According to the actress’ website, she has also appeared in a number of theatre productions such as Romeo & Juliet, The Member of The Wedding, The Seagull and The Girl Is Chained during her time at Yale School of Drama.
