A 21-year-old pregnant woman who recently relocated to Washington State has gone missing under “suspicious” circumstances, according to local authorities.
Jackelin Perez was reported missing on the evening of Sunday, Oct. 13, from her home, as stated by the police in Auburn, on Thursday. Authorities confirmed that she is six weeks pregnant.
The Auburn Police Department stated that their investigation has revealed “credible evidence” suggesting that Perez was “taken from her home under duress,” indicating that they do not view this as a random disappearance.
Perez recently immigrated to the U.S. with her husband, whose name is not mentioned in the police statement.
She arrived from Guatemala and has limited proficiency in English, according to police.
Authorities estimate that Perez went missing between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. local time on Sunday, with her husband reportedly returning home about 20 minutes after her disappearance.
He did not report her missing until the following morning.
According to the Auburn police statement, Perez is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 111 pounds, and has a scar on her left cheek
