In the fast-paced environment of WWE, injuries are a part of the game, but Liv Morgan’s latest match shows just how brutal things can get.
Liv made her return to the ring on February 10, 2025 for WWE Raw, teaming with Raquel Rodriguez to face CTRL's IYO SKY and Dakota Kai. Liv and Raquel lost the match, but the real shock came when Liv suffered a gruesome cut below her eyebrow after she took a kneel to the face in a poorly timed move. The injury left her face smeared with blood, sending fans into immediate concern. She eventually went on social media to post photos from the scene, including a deep bloody gash that seemed as realistic as it was painful. Even if WWE matches sometimes play with the boundaries between show and shoot, head wounds tend to bleed profusely thanks to the number of blood vessels located there, so even the slightest gash can have a great deal of visual impact.
While some fans speculated that the injury could have been faked, the unfiltered images and absence of prepared statement felt strong of an indication to the contrary from Liv.
She is next scheduled to compete at the March 1 edition of Elimination Chamber, while her status still pending as to whether or not she'll be medically cleared to wrestle. Meanwhile, making sure the wound heals will be critical, because reopening it could mean long-term scarring. Fans can only hope that Liv makes a speedy recovery as she gears up for her eagerly awaited return to the ring.
