Love is Blind” bid farewell to another couple in the latest episodes released earlier this week.
Monica Davis and Stephen Richardson ended their relationship after Monica discovered incriminating texts of a “sexual” nature from another woman on Stephen’s phone, according to Netflix.
This off-camera moment felt “like a dagger to the chest,” Monica, 37, shared with Entertainment Weekly, expressing that she was “devastated” by the messages.
When she confronted Stephen, 34, about the texts, he explained that he had drunkenly messaged the other woman during a sleep test and tried to take responsibility for his “completely stupid mistake” while reassuring her, as per Netflix.
However, Monica decided she was done. “At this point I don’t think there’s anything that I could say that you’d believe,” Stephen told her on the show. “I’m almost embarrassed by how much of my heart I’ve given you.”
Monica revealed that she stumbled upon the texts by sheer coincidence and that reviewing them was a spur-of-the-moment decision, which is why she couldn’t recall the specifics, other than that they were “really very sexual.”
“I remember one specifically said, ‘No one’s ever been able to satisfy my kinks the way you do.’ And they were just going back and forth,” Monica said.
Monica shared that she wanted their breakup to be filmed because she didn’t want Stephen to have the opportunity to pretend it didn’t happen.
However, she didn’t specify exactly when they split, pointing out that viewers should watch the reunion episode, set to air on Oct. 30, for the complete story.
After their official breakup, Monica requested that Stephen Venmo her for the expenses she had covered, explaining that her ex-boyfriends, some of whom still owe her money, influenced her decision.
“It was just for relationship things, and I was like, ‘I’m happy to pay for it all, and then you can pay me back when you can.’ So, groceries, I think dinner one night − it was a couple hundred bucks,” the sales executive.
Despite the heartbreak, Monica expressed that she was “really grateful” for the experience and “wouldn’t change a thing.”
Who else has broken up on ‘Love is Blind’ Season 7 so far?
Brittany Wisniewski and Leo Braudy, who also got engaged in the pods, broke up earlier in the show.
Although the couple wasn’t selected to go to Mexico, they took a trip to Miami where they realized they lacked chemistry and couldn’t see their engagement evolving into marriage, ultimately deciding they were better off as friends.
“We had a lot of conversations throughout the trip, and mutually came to the conclusion that we just didn’t see it turning into marriage,” Leo told People.
The remaining couples on the show include Taylor and Garrett, Nick and Hannah, Marissa and Ramses, Tim and Alex, and Ashley and Tyler.
