Wendy Williams Begs Paparazzi for Help from Assisted Living ‘Prison’

Former TV star Wendy Williams, who has been living at a New York assisted living facility after being diagnosed with dementia, was taken away by ambulance on Monday after authorities were called.

Reports state that Williams threw a handwritten note out of her window, pleading for help.

The note read, “Help! Wendy!” When police arrived, Williams walked to the ambulance on her own, escorted by a few officers.

Williams, who has been fighting her court-ordered guardianship, is under a conservatorship similar to the one Britney Spears once lived under.

In a recent interview with TMZ, she expressed frustration with the system, stating, “I am not allowed to go out. I can call you, but you can’t call me.”

She added, “This system has failed from top to bottom regarding this guardianship and everybody involved with that. The system failed. I want my freedom back.”

Wendy also shared that her relationship with her son had deteriorated, accusing him of exploiting her financially.

“My son, he overstepped his boundaries in terms of me. He overstepped his boundaries and he was inappropriately using my money without telling me anything about it,” she said.

The Wendy Williams Show, which first premiered in 2008, ran until 2022 when it was canceled due to Williams’ ongoing physical and mental health issues.

In a recent interview, she revealed that she lives on a floor known as the “memory unit,” where residents struggle with memory loss. However, she clarified that she does not have dementia.

Earlier this year, Williams fired her court-appointed attorney, claiming that she had regained the ability to function independently without her legal guardian, Sabrina Morrissey.

In November, Morrissey had argued in court that Williams was permanently incapacitated due to the early onset of dementia.
