In a significant restructuring move, NBCUniversal has promoted Pearlena Igbokwe to Chairman of NBC Entertainment, effective immediately.
Igbokwe, who previously served as Universal TV studio chief, will oversee all programming for the network, including late-night shows, live events, and specials.
She will also continue to manage NBCUniversal’s television studios, including Universal Television.
The promotion, announced by NBCUniversal Studios and Entertainment Chairman Donna Langley, solidifies Igbokwe’s position as a leading executive in the entertainment industry.
As Chairman of NBC Entertainment, Igbokwe will be responsible for guiding the network’s creative direction and strategic growth.
Her expanded role will also involve collaborating with top talent and producers to develop innovative programming.
Igbokwe’s new role expands her existing responsibilities as head of Universal Television, a position she’s held since 2016. She’ll also oversee scripted originals for Peacock.
Her track record of success includes overseeing production of hit shows such as “Law & Order: SVU” for NBC, “Hacks” for HBO, and “The Day of the Jackal” for Peacock.
