Tyla is clearing the air after fans compared her Coachella outfit to one of Britney Spears’ most famous looks.
The 23-year-old Water singer performed at Coachella last weekend wearing tiny denim shorts with beaded fringe and green feathers, a green floral bralette, a silver body chain, and tall grey boots.
Right away, fans noticed the outfit looked a lot like Britney Spears’ iconic 2001 MTV VMAs outfit, the one where she wore a green top, blue shorts, and danced with a snake during her I’m A Slave 4 U performance.
That Britney moment is still one of the most remembered in pop culture, so many thought Tyla was doing a modern version of it.
But Tyla jumped on X (formerly Twitter) to shut that down. She replied to a now-deleted post saying, “Love her but I just thought the outfit was fly… no inspo.”
Even though she denied it, fans kept talking. One person tweeted, “Your stylist was probably inspired — you just thought it looked cute.”
