After a sweet potato challenge, it was Day Anaïs Joseph who faced elimination. Despite her efforts with a dish featuring roasted Carolina Ruby sweet potato, herbes de provence, and seared snapper, the undercooked fish and overpowering herbs led to her departure.
The winning team of the challenge, where teams had to prepare a dish in the time it takes a NASCAR driver to complete 23 laps around the track, was the Blue Team with their crab and shrimp hush puppy creation. Each team member walked away with a cash prize of $5000.
In the subsequent Elimination Challenge focusing on creating dishes centered around sweet potatoes, Jamie Lynch and a panel of esteemed chefs including Cheetie Kumar, Chayil Johnson, and Sean Brock, judged the presentations. The contestants were divided into groups, with one chef from each group facing elimination.
Ultimately, Rhoda claimed immunity for the following week with her winning dish. However, Day and Nana found themselves in the bottom two, with Day’s undercooked elements sealing her fate as the first elimination of the season.
Top Chef airs on Monday nights on Bravo, with each episode running for 75 minutes. Stay tuned for more culinary competition and mouth-watering challenges.
