Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh is being sued by her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill for the interview which she granted in May 2019. Referencing the 3 part YouTube series titled, The Evidence, Olakunle Churchill alleges that his ex-wife accused him of cyber fraud also known as Yahoo Yahoo, among other damaging allegations.
He is also seeking legal redress over the claim Tonto Dikeh made dispelling speculation of being related to the former President Olusegun Obasanjo. He claims the allegations are baseless and only seek to tarnish his image.
He is also demanding for the sum of N500,000,000 in damages.
It read in parts;
“The series of malicious and fallacious allegations, assertions and accusations through media campaigns and publications by Tonto Dikeh and her charity group was defamatory.”
The actress had been asked to appear for trial 14 days from Dec 10, 2019, failing which the court would proceed with judgement in her absence. The next hearing of the case is Thursday, February 20, 2020.
