‘Tinder Swindler’ Simon Leviev Is Being Sued by the Real Leviev Diamond Family

The real Leviev diamond family is reportedly suing “Tinder Swindler” aka Simon Leviev for millions of dollars.

The prominent fraudster at the centre of Netflix’s documentary, “Tinder Swindler”, is being sued by Lev Leviev and his daughter Chagit Leviev, CEO of the Leviev Group USA for allegedly impersonating them and enriching himself in their name.

Per Page Six, the lawsuit alleges that, “For a long time, he [Simon] has been making false representations as being the son of Lev Leviev and receiving numerous benefits (including material ones), cunningly and using false words, claiming to be a member of the Leviev Family, and that his family will pay and bear the costs of his benefits,”

“He even used the LLD Diamonds trademark to make his victims believe that he was indeed part of the diamond company (it’s CEO no less, per his signature) and was a member of the Leviev Family.”

Simon was sentenced to two and a half years in prison in Finland after being convicted of defrauding three women. He also spent 15 months in an Israeli jail after being convicted of four counts of fraud, but he was released after only five months.

After his prison sentence ended, the “Tinder Swindler” moved to Israel and began dating a model girlfriend. He is still attempting to make money off of his celebrity by selling tacky T-shirts with the slogan, “If she really loves you she’ll take out a loan for you.”

The Leviev Group family business has been operating for 40 years, supplying unique and rare diamonds to the world’s top jewellers. According to them, there are nine siblings in the family, five brothers – and none of which are called Simon – and four girls.

Chagit alleges that Simon also made out fake checks of up to $350,000 in the name of the family. Per Page Six, it was difficult to arrest him because he was moving through so many different countries. The family also has evidence of him using charter companies, yachts, high-end apartment rentals, it goes on and on.

Chagit says that proceeds gotten from the lawsuit would be given back to Simon’s victims.
