In a recent post on January 18, Bunni shared a photo with Logan Paul, donning a Pikachu hoodie and holding one of the rarest Pokémon trading cards in existence. The card in question is the 1998 Pikachu Illustrator, considered the ultimate prize in Pokémon collecting. Designed by Atsuko Nishida, the original creator of Pikachu, this card holds significant historical value in the world of Pokémon.

Only a few dozen of these cards were produced, with about 20 of them being professionally graded. Paul’s card, graded PSA 10, is the only one of its kind, boasting flawless condition and unparalleled rarity. Astonishingly, Paul put this unique card up for public auction earlier this month, with bidding starting at a substantial amount.

Bunni, drawn to the sentimental value of the card due to her father being the one who introduced her to Pokémon collecting, made an offer behind the scenes to purchase the card for $10.2 million. Although a substantial sum, Bunni emphasized the personal significance of the card in honoring her origins in the hobby.

Despite her heartfelt gesture, Paul chose to proceed with the auction, citing the already high stakes. With the auction nearing $6 million and 33 days left, the card continues to break records and capture attention in the collecting world. Paul’s connection to the card dates back to 2021 when he initially acquired a Pikachu Illustrator and later upgraded to the top-graded copy through a private transaction, solidifying its status as a coveted collectible piece.
