In the heart of the three-tier kitchen on Gordon Ramsay’s holiday baking competition, Next Level Baker, a diverse group of twelve bakers with backgrounds ranging from home to professional to social media gathered to showcase their skills in creating nostalgic chocolate holiday treats. The ultimate prize package of $25,000, a Hexclad prize package, and the title of Next Level Baker awaited the competition’s winner.
Joining Gordon Ramsay in judging the sweet treats were Top Chef alum Carla Hall and Sprinkles Cupcakes founder Candace Nelson. The bakers were divided into three groups – professional, social media, and home bakers – each assigned to a different level in the kitchen based on a lucky draw from wrapped packages.
For the “Baking Spirits Bright” episode, a twist was introduced as one contestant from each group would be eliminated at the end of the first bake. The tension was high as the bakers faced the challenge of creating spectacular holiday treats to impress the judges.
In the end, it was time to bid farewell to Winston Murdock, Justin Ellen, Michael Mararian, and Maricsa Trejo as they were eliminated from the competition. Those who advanced included professional bakers Chad Visger and Aubrey Smith Shaffner, social media bakers Nikita “Nikki” Jackson, Chloe Sexton, and Zoha Malik, as well as home bakers Stefanie Embree, Deirdra Lambright, and Jeff Chudakoff.
As the competition progressed, Chad, Stefanie, and Zoha emerged victorious in the chocolate challenge, earning them a spot in the top-level kitchen for the next round. Meanwhile, Nikki, Deirdra, and Chloe showcased their baking skills in the middle-level kitchen, leaving Maricsa, Aubrey, and Jeff in the basement.
In a nail-biting elimination challenge involving boozy bakes, Stefanie, Aubrey, and Chloe impressed the judges and secured their spot in the top-level kitchen for the following week. On the other hand, Zoha, Deirdra, and Jeff moved to the middle-level kitchen, while Maricsa, Chad, and Nikki faced elimination. Ultimately, Maricsa bid farewell to the competition, leaving Chad and Nikki to bake in the basement kitchen in the upcoming episodes.
