The whereabouts of actor Timothy Busfield remain unknown as authorities continue their search following an arrest warrant issued by the Albuquerque Police Department. The warrant alleges that Busfield engaged in unlawful sexual conduct with two 11-year-old boys, sparking a deep concern within the community.
In the wake of the arrest warrant being issued on Friday, Jan. 9, the police department confirmed on Monday, Jan. 12 that they are collaborating with the U.S. Marshals Service in their efforts to locate and apprehend Busfield. When questioned about Busfield’s current status, a police department spokesperson replied, “Not that I am aware.”
According to court documents, Busfield is facing charges of two counts of criminal sexual contact with a minor and an open count of child abuse. The allegations state that one of the children disclosed that Busfield had touched them inappropriately when they were only 7 years old.
The investigation into Busfield began in November 2024 after staff at the University of New Mexico Hospital raised concerns about one of the children showing signs of being groomed. While the children did not disclose any sexual contact to hospital staff, they did describe instances of discomfort when Busfield would tickle them despite their objections.
The children in question were young actors who reportedly met Busfield on the set of the FOX series “The Cleaning Lady,” which he served as an executive producer and director for from January 2022 to June 2025.
Busfield, who has been married to actress Melissa Gilbert since 2013, has yet to release a statement regarding the allegations. The pair have remained silent as the investigation unfolds.
