The Return of Alexa Crowe

The 30th anniversary of the debut of “Xena: Warrior Princess” was celebrated last year. Although the show ended over 20 years ago after six seasons, its star Lucy Lawless still has a dedicated fan base eager to follow her career. One of Lawless’s recent projects is the Acorn TV mystery series “My Life is Murder,” where she portrays Alexa Crowe, a retired detective who gets pulled back into solving crimes. The show has been renewed for a fifth season, with production taking place in Lawless’s home country of New Zealand.

“My Life is Murder” follows Alexa Crowe, a former detective who can’t resist a mystery, as she teams up with a tech analyst and a local detective to crack difficult cases. The show originally took place in Melbourne, Australia, but later seasons are set in Auckland, New Zealand. Each season has featured a set number of episodes, with the upcoming fifth season including eight new thrilling cases.

Lawless is joined by a talented cast including Ebony Vagulans, Rawiri Jobe, Joe Naufahu, and Martin Henderson. The fifth season will also feature guest appearances from Dean O’Gorman, Fern Sutherland, Rhys Darby, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Cohen Holloway, Johnny Barker, Marta Dusseldorp, Kirk Torrance, and Nicole Whippy.
