The Enchanting World of Practical Magic

In the world of “Practical Magic,” love is a tricky thing, especially when your family is cursed from finding it. Sally (Sandra Bullock) and Gillian Owens (Nicole Kidman) know this all too well. Aidan Quinn’s character, state investigator Gary Hallet, falls for Sally in the original film, but will he make a return in the sequel?

Unfortunately, it seems that Quinn wasn’t asked to reprise his role as Gary in “Practical Magic 2.” The trailer for the upcoming film shows the Owen sisters and aunts reunited, but Gary is notably absent. Sally and Gillian warn Lee Pace’s character of the dangers surrounding them, leaving fans to wonder about Gary’s fate.

In a recent interview with Official Spin 1038, Quinn expressed his willingness to return for the sequel, stating, “I wasn’t asked; I would have said yes, but I wasn’t asked; of course I would.” Despite not being in the new movie, Quinn had nothing but positive things to say about Bullock and Kidman, praising them both as phenomenal to work with.

While the plot of “Practical Magic 2” remains a mystery, Kidman teased that fans can expect to see familiar favorites like midnight margaritas and rooftop shenanigans, along with the sisters’ past catching up to them. The film aims to bring Alice Hoffman’s “Book of Magic” to life, promising a mix of old and new characters in the rebuilt original house on the cliff.

Joining the cast are new faces like Maisie Williams from “Game of Thrones” and Joey King from “The Act,” taking on the roles of the next generation of witches. The sequel is set to hit theaters this September, promising to enchant audiences once again with its magical story.

As “Practical Magic 2” prepares to captivate audiences with its bewitching tale, one thing is clear- love, curses, and magic make for an irresistible combination, leaving fans eager to see what the future holds for the Owens family.
