Last autumn, the soap opera world was abuzz with excitement over the addition of fan-favorite Greg Vaughan to the cast of “Beyond the Gates.”
Vaughan, known for his roles on iconic soap operas like “Days of Our Lives” and “General Hospital,” as well as appearances on primetime shows such as “Beverly Hills 90210” and “Charmed,” made his debut on “Beyond the Gates” as Dr. Kial Rollins on December 8, 2025.
Despite only appearing in two episodes of the CBS soap, including his debut, Vaughan’s presence on the show has left fans wondering about his future. He is currently on recurring status, indicating that it may be some time before we see him again on screen.
In an interview with Michael Fairman TV, Vaughan opened up about his current situation on “Beyond the Gates.” He discussed not being a contract player and navigating his way through the role until something more concrete comes along.
Kial’s absence from the show can be explained by his character being a traveling doctor, which leaves the door open for him to return to interact with characters like Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) and Carlton (Robert Christopher Riley) in a potential love triangle.
The love triangle storyline has mainly focused on Carlton and Nicole so far, but viewers are hopeful that Kial will make a return to shake things up in the near future.
With “Beyond the Gates” airing weekdays on CBS, fans will have to stay tuned to see how Vaughan’s character evolves in the dramatic world of soap operas.
