Taylor Swift recently showed her support for Natalia Bryant, Kobe Bryant’s eldest daughter, by liking a TikTok video Natalia posted celebrating her graduation from the University of Southern California.
The video, shared on Sunday, May 18, features Natalia and three friends, all recent USC graduates, happily lip-syncing to Swift’s song “Nothing New (Taylor’s Version).”
The lyrics, particularly “How can a person know everything at 18 but nothing at 22? And will you still want me when I’m nothing new?”, resonated with the common feelings of uncertainty faced by new college graduates.
Natalia’s graduation ceremony on Friday, May 16, also included heartfelt tributes to her late father, Kobe Bryant, who passed away in 2020.
Her graduation sash was embroidered with “Thank you Mom & Dad” in USC’s colors and featured her father’s “sheath logo,” which Kobe had explained represented “raw talent.”
Lakers owner Jeanie Buss personally handed Natalia her diploma, adding a special touch from their “Lakers Family.”
Swift’s subtle online activity generated excitement among her fans, as she has been keeping a low profile since wrapping her record-breaking Eras Tour at the end of last year.
Her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, is also enjoying his off-season, and the couple has been making the most of their time off together.
